3/4" Rough Ice to the Second Break
We are not allowing any traffic out of the Red Door access this weekend. Our Ice Team did some very cautious near shore ice walking on Mille Lacs, and estimated that the access and area out to the second break currently has approximately 0.75″ of rough ice. The ice is improving and still has a long way to go.
We are encouraged that the seven day forecast finally does not project any above freezing temperatures. Lows early next week should be in the mid / low single digits, and we hope that the meteorologist is correct in that we shouldn’t expect much if any snow over the next week.
Overall we are cautiously optimistic about the next week and provide another update soon.
