The Red Door Resort Marina on Lake Mille Lacs

The Red Door Resort is Everyone’s Summer Paradise

We all have that ONE friend who is game for anything – you know which one we’re talking about. Any hair-brained idea you concoct, they’re there for it. Then there’s the person in your life who is a devoted lover of the whole Netflix and chill lifestyle. Cozy pants, munchies, and all the relaxing is their love language. Most of us fall into the middle ground. That gray area where our enthusiasm to participate might depend on what phase the moon is in or how much sleep we got the night before. What do all these distinct but necessary humans have in common? They can all be thoroughly entertained at The Red Door Resort, and this summer it’s the place to be. From numerous appealing outdoor activities to inviting cabins with comfortable beds and DISH Network, we have it all, for everyone. So, what are you waiting for? Get planning! Or maybe your Ride or Die is already on it.

The Wingman at any age. At The Red Door Resort, you can bring your boat, or you can rent one of our pontoons. There’s room for waterskiing, swimming, wind sailing, canoeing – you get the idea – right at your fingertips. Who’s up for an old-fashioned play date on an interactive and colorful playground? We have an amazing one, along with a fun variety of schoolyard games like basketball, gaga ball, and so many more. And if you’re not interested in a late afternoon game of HORSE or PIG can you really call yourself fun? For a sun-filled thrill, may we suggest booking a day on the lake with Captain John Wersal, our preferred Mille Lacs Lake fishing guide? You’ll welcome the whiplash after reeling in all those fish and most importantly, Captain John is just an all-around fun guy to spend time with. Last but certainly not least, we’re close-knit neighbors to gorgeous state parks and golf courses so, spread your wings like you’re used to doing, and take a field trip to places unknown.

The relaxation expert. Two words. Glowing bonfire. Oh, excuse me, four words. Glowing bonfire with s’mores. Imagine a nighttime date with a cozy blanket and mesmerizing fire to complete a perfect day of bobbing in Lake Mille Lacs’ crystal blues waters, beachy read in hand. Our motels and cabins beckon a friendly game of Monopoly or Sorry! and they’re all spacious enough for that 1,500-piece puzzle you’ve been meaning to tackle. Eager to snuggle up and binge Cobra Kai or Fuller House? Our living rooms are tastefully decorated and roomy, and in our cabins and motel suite, they’re adjacent to the kitchen where you can proceed to put together your snack buffet.

The sensible explorer. All of the above. Contingent on how many cups of coffee you have that day, obviously.

Activities at Red Door

The Red Door Resort offers a number of activities at or near the resort. Our swimming beach has a sandy lake bottom that stretches out from shore. Activities available at the main resort include a playground, basketball, and gaga ball pit.

Mille Lacs Lake features a world renowned fishery and is also great for recreational use, including swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking and canoeing. Off the lake there are walking, hiking and snowmobiling opportunities; many of the trails wind through hundreds of acres of beautiful state land and are accessible year round. The area around the resort has a high concentration of sugar maples, which means that, in the fall, the area has some of the most vibrant colors in the state.

The resort is only minutes away from excellent hunting land, state parks, and golf courses. Further afield, you can access the Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Brainerd International Raceway, Paul Bunyan Land, Wealthwood Rod and Gun Club, and the Mille Lacs Indian Museum.
