Open to Full Traffic with Access to Ten Different Mud Flats
The Red Door Resort access remains open to full traffic. Seasonal Members and weekend guests will be able to access the sand breaks and well as ten mud flats (double the number off accessible flats compared to last weekend).
Road Expansion
The Ice Team significantly expanded the road network over the past few days. Members and guests now have access to not only the sand breaks, but also the following mud flats: Weimer, Bomback, Pantry, Resort, Matton, Purity, Fletcher, Bitcher, Eileen’s and Backer. The current ice road network is shown below. The Red Door’s ice highways are ready for your arrival.
Plowed Wheelhouse Spots
Again, this weekend the ice team will be on the lake offering complimentary custom wheelhouse slots on a first come, first served basis. Please stop in at the office when you arrive to pay for your road pass and to be placed on the list for a spot. The Ice Team will not be plowing custom spots after 6pm on Friday evening (they will resume again at daylight on Saturday). Please also remember that private plows will not be allowed through the access.
Activities on Mille Lacs
Mille Lacs has a number of events happening this coming weekend. Appledorn’s will be hosting Midwest Ice Racing’s fourth – and only Mille Lacs – race event this coming weekend. Stop by to check out the dirtbike / quad racing; gates open at 7am, practice is from 8-9:30am and racing begins at 10am. Nitti’s Hunters point will be hosting the Justin Morneau Ice Fishing Classic benefiting the United Heroes League and KJ’s Ice Jam, a fishing tournament with evening music, will be in full swing on the south side of the big pond.
