End of Season Report

We have wrapped up our 2016/17 Ice Season and access is now closed.    It was an amazing bite and we appreciate all the amazing photo’s that our guests and members shared with us.   It was a challenging year with the access with the significant swings in temperature and due to weather, we had to pull houses a week early; we appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.  It was a very enjoyable season and many memories were made.    Thanks to all our members and guests for choosing the Red Door Resort!!!

Our customer appreciation evening was a huge success.  Huge thanks to my wife Lynn Kulifaj for all the hard work and dedication in putting this great event together!!!  Lots of cheer, beer, singing, dancing and live music made the evening a blast.   Mudcat Melby and the Old Dogs played live for our group and were spectacular!!!!   We couldn’t have been more impressed with their performance!!!    We raised over $1000 for St. Judes thanks to the generous donations from The Lonesome Pine Restaurant, Castaways Resort, The Wharf Resort, Barneveld’s Resort, Wealthwood Rod & Gun Club, and Matt from Heggies Pizza.   Special thanks to Dick DeShaw, Lara Gens, Megan Ames, Jackie Meyer, Andy Barneveld, Matt & Deanne Heinen, and Jody Guyer for helping with the great food and all the set-up.    Thanks to Steve Wright and Steve Unzer for the added entertainment and announcements.    Interim and “after-hours” continued musical support thanks to Steve Unzer, Dick DeShaw and Charlie Darmer for keeping the party going and providing a lot of laughs.   The event really embraced the great atmosphere at the Red Door Resort and it is truly our members and guests that make The Red Door Resort such a special place.

Thanks again for the great season and we look forward to seeing everyone up here this summer!!!!!

Activities at Red Door

The Red Door Resort offers a number of activities at or near the resort. Our swimming beach has a sandy lake bottom that stretches out from shore. Activities available at the main resort include a playground, basketball, and gaga ball pit.

Mille Lacs Lake features a world renowned fishery and is also great for recreational use, including swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking and canoeing. Off the lake there are walking, hiking and snowmobiling opportunities; many of the trails wind through hundreds of acres of beautiful state land and are accessible year round. The area around the resort has a high concentration of sugar maples, which means that, in the fall, the area has some of the most vibrant colors in the state.

The resort is only minutes away from excellent hunting land, state parks, and golf courses. Further afield, you can access the Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Brainerd International Raceway, Paul Bunyan Land, Wealthwood Rod and Gun Club, and the Mille Lacs Indian Museum.
