Red Door Access Open for Walk On Traffic
Starting tomorrow (Monday) morning, the Red Door access will be open again for walk on traffic. The Ice Team found at least 4 consistent inches of ice just outside of the access in the area where the ice sheet blew away, exposing a vast swath of open water, last Wednesday, December 23rd. The ice depth improves – sometimes significantly – further out. Following a planned exploration this coming Wednesday, we will provide more specific details of the findings, including commentary on ice depth and consistency, and will predict the chances of allowing ATV and snowmobile traffic by the weekend.
